Code Compliance Board

The Code Compliance Board convenes regularly to ensure the adherence to municipal codes and ordinances, fostering a safe and harmonious environment for our community. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall. Join us as we uphold the standards that make our village a great place to live, work, and play.

Responsibilities

The Code Compliance Board, guided by the Village Code of Ordinances, plays a crucial role in enforcing regulations and maintaining order within our community. Key responsibilities include:

Agenda Coordination: All matters brought before the Code Compliance Board are meticulously managed by the Code Compliance Officer, ensuring a streamlined and efficient process.
Enforcement Procedures: The Village Code of Ordinances outlines procedures for enforcing codes, aiming for fairness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Residents cited for code violations are brought before the board by the Code Compliance Officer.
Administrative Fines: The board is empowered to impose administrative fines for violations, offering a mechanism to address non-compliance. However, no criminal penalties are enforced.
Board Composition: Board appointments are made based on experience and interest, with a focus on diversity. We encourage the inclusion of individuals from various backgrounds, including architects, businesspersons, engineers, contractors, and licensed real estate professionals.
