Arts & Culture Advisory Board

The Arts & Culture Advisory Board convenes regularly to celebrate and enhance the vibrant cultural landscape of our community. Established on March 4, 2014, by the Village of Biscayne Park Commission through Ordinance No. 2014-01, our board is dedicated to enriching the lives of residents and visitors through diverse arts and cultural initiatives.

Meeting Schedule and Location

We meet every second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at Village Hall. Join us to engage in stimulating discussions, share ideas, and contribute to the cultural vitality of our village.

Mission and Responsibilities

As stewards of arts and culture in Biscayne Park, our board's duties include:

  • Making recommendations to the commission for inclusive social and cultural activities encompassing the arts, food, music, and history. Upon commission approval, we may host these events to enrich community life.
  • Advising on educational programs that highlight our village's unique cultural, historical, and ecological heritage, fostering learning and appreciation among residents and visitors.
  • Providing guidance on general policies concerning visual arts within our village, ensuring the promotion and preservation of artistic expression.
  • Recommending the selection, placement, and upkeep of loaned, donated, or acquired artworks for Village properties, enhancing public spaces with artistic endeavors.
  • Offering insights into funding opportunities and grant sources for public art projects, facilitating the realization of creative endeavors.
  • Mobilizing public support and engagement with our mission and activities, fostering a sense of pride and involvement in our cultural community.
